Summer is nearly upon us, and there’s a huge range of both new and long-standing festivals taking place across rock, pop, indie and everything in between.

Whether you’re looking for a pure rock and metal weekender or something family-oriented with swimming and comedy thrown into the mix, there’s sure to be a festival for you this summer.

An absolute must for any heavy music fan, Download Festival hosts some of the biggest and best names in rock. This year’s Main Stage headliners include Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and Avenged Sevenfold, with the likes of You Me At Six and Neck Deep headlining the smaller stages.

Isle of Wight Festival

What
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the festival, and there’s a wonderfully diverse line-up to celebrate it. Across the weekend, there’ll be plenty of alternative, rock and indie sets, with the likes of Kasabian, The Killers and Depeche Mode headlining, as well as pop performances from Rita Ora, Jessie J and more.

TRNSMT Festival

TRNSMT Festival started as a replacement for T in the Park, and is now in its second year, running for two weekends. Taking place in Glasgow’s east end, the rock and indie event also gives festival-goers the chance to explore the city’s nightlife, culture and eateries, as well as offering sets from Stereophonics, The Script, Arctic Monkeys and many more.

2000 Trees Festival

This independent rock festival is dedicated to bringing together the best new talent and underground talent along with well-established names in the scene. Bands on the line-up this year include Enter Shikari, At The Drive In, Creeper, Basement and more.

Latitude Festival

What
One of the UK’s most diverse festivals, Latitude showcases a wealth of comedy, poetry, theatre, film and workshops as well as music. It’s known for being particularly family friendly and even has lake swimming open to festival-goers on site. This year’s music line-up includes Solange, The Killers, alt-J, Wolf Alice and more.

Taking place on a wooded country estate on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, this enchanting festival is known for its diverse music line-up, as well as showcasing comedy, theatre, circus and art. With performances from acts spanning across indie, hip-hop, house, rock and more, Bestival really does have something for everyone. Names on this year’s line-up include London Grammar, Plan B, Rudimental, Sundara Karma and more.

RiZE Festival
